Our most commonly requested recipes are how to make various frozen goods in the air fryer. We have responded with recipes for air fryer frozen shrimp, air fryer frozen onion rings, and even air fryer frozen pizza.

Those are just a few of our favorites, but now we’re adding something new to the mix – frozen egg rolls in the air fryer!

These make a great side dish with some fried rice (have you tried our air fryer fried rice?) or air fryer orange chicken!

Of course, we often just make them as a quick lunch or serve them as a snack when we have friends over. No matter your preference for when to serve, you will love these egg rolls served with a little bit of sweet and sour sauce or yum yum sauce for dipping!

Ingredient Notes:

Frozen egg rolls– You may use any variety of frozen egg roll. The ones in the photographs here are chicken, but any variety will do.

How to Make Frozen Egg Rolls in an Air Fryer:

Add your egg rolls to the air fryer basket. Spritz them lightly with oil spray and air fryer them for 8 minutes at 350 degrees F. Then flip them over, increase the temp to 400 degrees and air fry for 2 more minutes to get that really crisp finish.

Are frozen egg rolls good from the air fryer?

Absolutely! They still come out crispy on the outside and hot in the center if you follow our recipe!

Will this recipe work for frozen spring rolls also?

We haven’t tested this method on frozen spring rolls yet (soon!), but it would likely work fine. Adjust cook time if needed.

Recipe tips:

This recipe can be served alone or as a side dish with a larger meal. We like to eat egg rolls with white rice or fried rice most of the time.

Egg rolls are also fantastic when dipped in sweet and sour sauce. This is the most common dipping sauce of course. I would like to encourage you to try dipping your egg rolls in yum yum sauce though. It is the same sauce you would normally find at a Japanese steakhouse. It is a mayonnaise-based sauce that is a bit sweet, but dang it is good!

  2. Spritz the egg rolls lightly with oil spray for a crisper texture.
  3. Air fry at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.
  4. Flip egg rolls over and increase heat to 400 degrees. Air fry for 2 more minutes or until as crisp as you’d like.

Serve with sweet and sour sauce or yum yum sauce for dipping.

We've tested this recipe with a couple of different brands and varieties of frozen egg rolls and they all work great following this method. Use what you like!

If you're making multiple batches of egg rolls, cook the second batch for 5 minutes at 350 and then increase heat to 400 for 2 minutes or until as browned/crispy as you'd like. Once the air fryer is preheated from the first batch, the next batch cooks faster.
