We love the fried apples from Cracker Barrel, so we recreated them at home using the air fryer. These are so simple and make a great topping for your oatmeal, pancakes, or ice cream, but they're also a great side dish with dinner.
Peel and core the apples. Slice into wedges about ½ inch thick or dice into cubes.
Place the apples in a bowl and drizzle the melted butter over the top. Toss to coat and arrange in an air fryer basket.
Air fry at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until apples are tender and getting a bit brown around the edges.
Remove the apples back to the bowl and sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt over the top. Stir to coat.
Notes
Test for doneness by sticking a fork in the apples. Watch to be sure they don't get too browned around the edges.Serve warm over vanilla ice cream for dessert or as a side dish with dinner.
