This cheesy chicken sandwich is packed with peppers and onions with a simple seasoning that all cooks together so quickly in the air fryer. We wrap the sandwiches in foil and pop it all in the air fryer so that everything is warm and toasty before serving.
Thinly slice the chicken, onion, and peppers into strips and place in a medium sized bowl.
Drizzle with the olive oil and sprinkle with the seasoned salt and garlic powder and toss to coat.
Dump the chicken and vegetables into the basket of your air fryer and cook at 390 for 12 minutes, gently shaking the basket or stirring halfway through cooking.
Remove the meat and vegetables from the basket and fill your hoagie rolls. Top each sandwich with a slice of cheese.
Wrap each sandwich tightly in foil and return to the air fryer for 3 minutes at 390 degrees.
Remove from the air fryer, unwrap the sandwiches, and serve.
Notes
Use Cheez whiz or American cheese in place of provolone if you wish. The sandwiches will stay hot in the foil for 20 minutes or so, which is a perfect amount of time to whip up some air fryer frozen french fries!
