1/2cupbuttersoftened, cubed, plus more for brushing on top
1cupbuttermilk
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
Using a pastry cutter, or large fork, add in pieces of butter and mash together until the dough forms into a flaky crumble.
Add in the buttermilk, and stir until the dough is moist. Remove the dough from the bowl, and place on a floured surface to knead gently. The dough will be a little sticky, but as you knead it will become smooth. Don't over mix - just knead until the dough comes together.
Once the dough is smooth, roll it out to about ¾ inches thick.
Cut the dough with a round cutter, or use a drinking glass, to make circles in the dough.
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper cut with holes. (See note)
Working in batches if necessary, place the biscuits in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Be sure the biscuits don’t touch or overlap.
Brush melted butter on the tops of each biscuit and then cook at 350 degrees for about 8-10 minutes, watching for the biscuits to turn golden brown.
Remove from air fryer and serve.
Notes
You may poke holes in regular parchment paper or purchase parchment paper specifically meant for the air fryer. We use this paper.
