Chicken breasts are a staple in our house and this balsamic chicken in the air fryer is an easy way to get it on the table while still packing in bold flavors. The family loves this sliced and served on salad, with pasta, or in a grain bowl.
Add the oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, dijon, Italian seasoning, and salt to a mixing bowl and whisk well to combine.
Add the chicken to the marinade and toss to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours.
Drain the marinade from the chicken. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in an oiled air fryer basket.
Discard any excess marinade. If you'd like to use it as a glaze, you must boil it rigorously for at least 5 minutes to kill any harmful bacteria. This will reduce the consistency as well.
Air fry at 380 degrees for 12 minutes or until chicken reaches 165 degrees internally.
Notes
This recipe also works well with chicken thighs or even drumsticks. Boneless, skinless thighs will cook for the same amount of time. Drumsticks are best cooked at 400 degrees to crisp up the skin. Cook for 20 minutes.
