This air fryer Chipotle chicken is smoky, perfectly seasoned, and cooks in just 12 minutes. The secret? Adobo sauce from chipotle peppers combined with chili powder, cumin, and oregano for that signature flavor everyone loves.
Add everything except for the chicken to a large ziptop bag and stir or smoosh everything together until well combined.
Add the chicken to the bag and seal. Smoosh the bag around to coat the chicken in the marinade.
Marinade for at least 1 hour and up to 12 hours.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place in a preheated 380 degree air fryer and cook for 12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
Chop into bite-sized pieces and serve as a filling for tacos, burritos, or on salads.
Notes
You’ll need to purchase a jar of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce for this one. You’ll just use the sauce. Save the peppers for another use - they’re really tasty, but quite spicy. This recipe works great with chicken breasts too. Pound them out to an even thickness before cooking for the best results.
