Perfect for busy weeknights - whip up the marinade in the morning before work (it takes just a few minutes), add the chicken and toss it in the fridge. When you're ready for dinner, just drain off the marinade and toss it in the air fryer. Big flavor, simple to make, and very kid-friendly.
2-3poundsboneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
Instructions
Add the soy sauce, water, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and onion powder to a large zip top bag and mix well to combine.
Pound out the chicken to an even thickness. Add the chicken to the bag, press out most of the air, and seal the bag. Smoosh the chicken around to coat it in the marinade.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 4-8 hours.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place the chicken in a single layer in an oiled air fryer basket. Discard leftover marinade.
Air fry chicken in a single layer, working in batches if necessary, at 390 degrees for 10 minutes or until chicken reaches 165 degrees on an internal meat thermometer.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Pound out the chicken first to ensure that it cooks evenly. You can marinate the chicken for as little as 30 minutes, but preferably 4 to 8 hours to get the best results.Use a meat thermometer to make sure the chicken reaches a safe temp of 165 degrees. The nutrition info is calculating all of the marinade - most of this is being discarded so the counts aren't very accurate.
