These French Toast Roll Ups are filled with Nutella for the ultimate sweet breakfast treat. Rolled up so you can eat them with your hands or a fork and made in the air fryer to keep breakfast quick and easy!

We love air fryer breakfast recipes and French toast is definitely one of our go to recipes. We make it pretty often but these French toast roll ups are a new one for us! They’ve got pretty much all the same ingredients, just prepared differently. Plus, we’ve added Nutella! These are great for breakfast or even as a dessert.
They’re also quick and easy to make like any good French toast recipe would be! Try them topped with some powdered sugar and your favorite syrup or with a little cup of warm Nutella for extra dipping.
No matter how you serve these up, the family is going to love them.

White Bread – We’re using standard white bread for rolling up the Nutella. You’ll cut the crust off first before flattening the slices out. Brioche bread could also be used here for a more decadent treat or use whole wheat bread so you feel a little better about yourself this morning. 😉
Egg Mixture – The French toast egg mixture is a combination of milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon. You’ll dip the roll ups into this before air frying until they are crispy and golden brown!
Nutella – You can use our favorite brand of chocolate hazelnut spread, Nutella, or pretty much any other brand that you’d like.
Toppings – We like to top the French toast roll ups with a dusting of powdered sugar. Maple syrup is great for dipping or drizzling as well.
These are just as easy to make as regular French toast but are a great twist on the classic! We love all that Nutella too. You can prepare these and air fry them in under 30 minutes which is perfect for breakfast or when you just need a snack.
Step by Step Instructions for French Toast Roll Ups:
Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees and spritz the basket with some oil spray, or line with parchment paper. Trim the crust off each slice of bread and use a rolling pin to flatten each piece.
Spread each of the flattened slices of bread with 1 tablespoon of the Nutella and then roll the bread up tightly.
Add the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon to a small bowl and whisk until smooth. Dip each of the bread rolls into the egg mixture for a couple of seconds, then let the excess drip off.
Place the roll ups into the air fryer basket and air fry for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once halfway through. You may need to cook in batches. When finished serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a drizzle of syrup!

We’ve tested loads of air fryers over the years and narrowed it down to the best of the best! Whether you’re looking for a basket style air fryer that fits nicely on your countertop or you want the toaster oven style air fryer, we’ve got the recommendation for you!
Storage & Freezing Instructions:
If you’ve got leftovers you can keep them stored in the refrigerator, well covered, for about 4 days. You can reheat the French toast roll ups in the air fryer at 300 degrees for a few minutes.
We have not tried freezing these but I think they’d freeze beautifully. Let them cool completely before placing on a sheet pan in the freezer to flash freeze for one hour. After an hour, transfer the partially frozen roll ups to a freezer bag and store for up to 3 months. Flash freezing them first will prevent them from sticking to each other in the freezer bag.
Recipe Tips!
- Batches: If you have to air fry in batches then place on a cooking sheet and place them in a preheated 200 degree Fahrenheit oven to keep them warm until you are done.
- Nutella: Make sure that the Nutella is spread evenly on the bread for the best results.
- Dipping: When dipping in the egg mixture, don’t let the bread sit in the eggs for long. Over-soaking can make the inside of the roll up quite soggy. You want to dip quickly and evenly.
