We cook our BUFFALO CHICKEN EGG ROLLS in the air fryer to make them more convenient for everyone! The egg rolls turn out so crispy on the outside and the clean up is a breeze!
We took two of our favorite appetizers and married them together to create the ultimate snack! These buffalo chicken egg rolls are a definite new favorite our house and with the air fryer, they’re so easy to make!
The egg roll wrapper comes out nice and crispy, just like you’d expect from an egg roll.
The filling is loaded with chicken and cheese and perfectly spiced with buffalo sauce.
These are a great snack to keep on hand…you can make them up and keep them in your freezer until you’re ready to air fry them. Talk about convenient!
Ingredient Notes:
Shredded chicken – Keep it simple and start with a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. They’re easiest to shred if you do so while they’re still warm from the store.
Wing Sauce – You can make your own or buy a bottle of your favorite sauce here. Use as spicy or as mild as you like.
Cheese– You will need room temp cream cheese, so set it out before you start cooking. You will also needed some shredded cheddar for this recipe.
You will also need various seasonings and egg roll wrappers listed in the recipe card.
How to make:
Prepare the filling – This is a quick and easy, dump and go type of recipe. Add everything but the egg roll wrappers to a bowl and stir it all together. Taste the mixture and add a bit of cayenne if you’d like things more spicy! o
Fill the egg rolls – Lay out your egg roll wrapper and place about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling into the center.
Roll up the egg rolls – Try to start with the chicken mixture in the center of the egg roll and the wrapper facing you more like a diamond than a square. Fold in the sides of the egg roll to the center. Next, roll the bottom up to the top and roll up as tight as you can. Before you make your last roll, dip your finger in water and brush it on the top corner then finish rolling the egg roll tightly. Repeat with all the egg rolls.
Cook the egg rolls – Cook your egg rolls at 390 degrees F for 7 minutes. When placing your egg rolls in the basket, be sure to avoid letting them touch. You will need space for the air to move around all sides of the egg roll to make them as crisp as possible.
Don’t forget to spritz with oil before cooking.
Common Questions
We love to dip these egg rolls in ranch dressing, but blue cheese is a good choice as well.
We would consider these mild if you follow the recipe. Obviously, if you don’t want them mild, you can spice them up to your liking by using a hotter buffalo sauce or by adding ground cayenne to the mixture.
We serve these as a snack or appetizer, alongside some carrots and celery and plenty of ranch or blue cheese.
Recipe Tips and Substitutions
Don’t overfill your egg rolls! This will make them difficult to seal and they will leak while cooking.
Want to make them spicier? Taste the filling and add ground cayenne to the mixture to get it as spicy as you’d like, or start with a hot wing sauce.
Need blue cheese with your buffalo chicken? Skip the cheddar and use blue cheese crumbled instead!

Look delicious, but I don’t have an air fryer. Could I cook them another way?
