These Air Fryer Crookies, or croissant cookies, feature buttery croissants stuffed and topped with gooey, melty chocolate chip cookie dough! Just two ingredients and 3 minutes in the air fryer. These TikTok viral crookies are a must try! Straight from Paris – try Le Crookie yourself at home!
Paris has a new croissant in town called Le Crookie! It’s one of their delicious, flaky butter croissants that’s stuffed and topped with chocolate chip cookie dough and then baked until it’s ooey gooey melty goodness.
As you can imagine, these croissant cookies have been blowing up on TikTok! They’re the latest viral recipe and we just had to give them a try. It turns out they are pretty amazing! These are going viral for a reason: they’re insanely delicious with melty warm gooey cookie dough, buttery flaky croissants, and it literally takes just 5 minutes to go from thinking about them to eating them.
With just 3 minutes in the air fryer, I think these are honestly kind of dangerous. I keep making them anytime the urge hits, which has been at least once a day for the last week.
If you’re buying croissants for this recipe you may as well buy a few extra and also try out our croissant French toast for breakfast!
What are Crookies?
A crookie is a croissant cookie, which is exactly what it sounds like. A buttery croissant stuffed with and topped with gooey cookie dough. They’ve recently gone viral on TikTok and have become very popular in Paris pastry shops. They look a bit odd with the cookie dough topping the croissants, but nobody cares how they look like when they taste so good!

Croissants – We’re using 4 small, already baked croissants in this recipe. We grabbed these from the grocery store bakery and they were labeled mini croissants. They’re about the size of a crescent roll that you’d bake yourself at home. If you can only find full sized croissants, you’ll just add more cookie dough…you really can’t mess this recipe up!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough – We keep things simple here and just use a tub of refrigerated, already prepared chocolate chip cookie dough. We like Nestle Toll House! The cookie dough DOES NOT fully bake…it’ll be soft and gooey and melty and glorious. If you’re concered about undercooked dough, try Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough as it’s been made safe to eat raw!
We love how simple this recipe is! Just two ingredients, a few minutes in the air fryer, and you’ve got crookies! It’s no surprise these croissant cookies are so popular and the recipe has gone viral. They’re just that good!
How to Make Crookies:
- Croissants – To prepare the crookies start by slicing the croissants open using a serrated knife. We didn’t slice all the way through – just enough to open them up.
- Fill – Scoop 2 tablespoons of cookie dough for each croissant and flatten it out slightly. Press the cookie dough into the inside of the croissant. A medium sized cookie scoop works perfect here.
- Top – Place the top of the croissant over the cookie dough to close the cookie dough inside of the croissant. Scoop 1 more tablespoon of cookie dough for each croissant, flatten them out, and press it onto the top of the croissant.
- Air Fry – Arrange the crookies in a single layer in your air fryer basket and air fry at 350 degrees for 3 minutes. It doesn’t take long! The croissants are already baked and you want the cookie dough to be nice and gooey, golden brown but not completely cooked through. Let them set for 5 minutes for serving.

FAQ:
In the unlikely event that you don’t eat all these croissant cookies right away they will last in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 days! They’re best warm, so reheat them in the microwave or air fryer.
Sure! Chocolate chip cookie dough works great for this but I think you could use pretty much any kind of cookie dough. Sugar cookie dough would probably work well too and you know I’ll be testing these with peanut butter cookie dough!
Yep, just place them back in the air fryer for about a minute or two at 350 degrees, or 15 seconds in the microwave. You don’t want to overheat them. It shouldn’t take very long at all to get them warmed back up.
