Our recipe for AIR FRYER JALAPENO POPPERS has just 6 ingredients and is ready to eat in 20 minutes! These jalapeno poppers are wrapped in bacon and so cheesy!
I’ve discovered that I can pretty much wrap anything in bacon and my family and friends are going to lose their minds over it.
These air fryer jalapeno poppers are no exception! They rank up there as family favorites, right alongside our bacon wrapped meatballs, bacon wrapped chicken bites, and bacon wrapped dates!
The saltiness of the bacon really works with the spice of the pepper and the creamy goodness of the cream cheese filling. In every bite, you get salty, creamy, and spicy. This has to be THE PERFECT recipe.
These poppers cook in just 10 minutes and everything cooks together. We’ve served these as a quick lunch with a huge green salad or just as an appetizer/snack while we’re watching the game!
Ingredient Notes:
Jalapenos – Safety first, you should wear gloves while working with these and wash your hands well afterward. Remember these are hot peppers! When shopping for them, do your best to keep them similar in size so that your result is as consistent as possible.
Bacon– I am a lover of thick-cut bacon, however, that is not best for this recipe. Use a “normal” cut and take care not to accidentally buy a maple or other flavored bacon. You just want regular bacon or smoked bacon for the best results with this recipe!
How to Air Fry Jalapeno Poppers:
Prepare the peppers– Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise. Carefully scrape out the seeds and membranes with a spoon and throw them away. If you like spicier peppers, see my note below for this step! Set the sliced peppers to the side.
Prepare the filling – In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir these together to combine. Spoon this cheese mixture into your prepared peppers evenly.
Cook the poppers– Cut your bacon slices in half and wrap each pepper with a half slice of bacon. Then add in a single layer to your air fryer basket being careful not to let the poppers touch. Cook at 390 degrees F for 10 minutes.
FAQ:
We love to serve these bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers with ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing for dipping. Another dip option that is a bit less common is raspberry preserves. Thin with a bit of water and heat in the microwave. The sweet and spicy go together really well!
Yes, it is! If you are on a low-carb or keto diet this is a great option for you!
Red jalapeno peppers are just more ripe jalapenos – they’re the same type of pepper, though they can be harder to find in most US markets. You can use red or green jalapenos in this recipe, but do note that red jalapenos tend to be spicier.

Made these poppers for Superbowl Sunday and they were a hit. I also used some of the filling I had left over to stuff in mushrooms. I did airfry my bacon and chopped it into the mix rather than wrap the pepper.
