These cheese stuffed crescent rolls are topped with garlic butter and cooked in the air fryer! These are so quick and easy that it’s a bit dangerous! Once you make these, you’ll want to make them again and again!
I don’t know about you, but I love eating garlic bread with just about everything. Pasta of course, but other things too, like chili.
Have you ever had chili with a side of garlic bread? It is legit!
I recently had chili, and of course, there were leftovers so the next day I was heating it up and had a garlic bread craving. The whole point of leftovers is to have an easy meal, so I wanted an easy way to make garlic bread.
I searched my fridge and found crescent rolls (which I absolutely love!) and decided to have a little fun.
✔️Garlic butter
✔️Cheesy center
✔️Air Fryer
Honestly, these are so good, so easy, so addictive…they’re dangerous!
Ingredient Notes:
Crescent Rolls- I don’t really have a preferred brand here or anything. Just grab a can of crescent dough and go!
Garlic butter– This will require butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
Cheese- We found that using simple mozzarella string cheese is the way to go!
How to make the crescent rolls in your air fryer:
Open your can of crescent dough and separate the triangles of dough.
Slice each of your string cheese sticks in half.
Place one half of the string cheese at the wide end of the dough, fold the ends in, then roll up the dough completely sealing the cheese. Repeat for all of the crescent dough and cheese sticks.
This is nearly as easy as just rolling up the regular crescent dough! I love simple recipes like this.
Stir together the butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
Brush the butter mixture over all sides of the crescent dough and place them in a single layer in an air fryer basket.
Air fry them for 6 minutes or until golden brown.
We like to brush these with any extra garlic butter after they’ve cooked and give them a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley.
Common Questions
Simply follow this recipe! The addition of the garlic butter and the stringy cheese in the center is top of its class!
The answer to this really lies in the difference between bread and a pastry. Crescent rolls are basically bread. A light and fluffy bread, but still a bread. Meanwhile, croissants, while also light and fluffy are a pastry. This is mostly due to the process of making their raw dough.
No they are not. The roll is basically a bread made with flour.
Why We Love These:
Soft, buttery crescent rolls are already a favorite with most people.
Brush them with garlic butter and stuff them with cheese and they’re even better.
Like a cross between garlic bread and mozzarella sticks, these are flavorful, satisfying, and quite addictive.
Luckily, they’re super quick and simple to make!

When using your air fryer you have to be careful not to damage your air fryer with the cans of non-stick spray. I was using this regularly in my air fryer and my basket started changing colors. I did some research on this and it turns out the air fryer manufacturers recommend applying oil with a pump spray bottle as opposed to using a non-stick spray in a can. This will lengthen the life of your air fryer basket.

Question…I am new to air frying, but my air fryer says not to use butter or olive oil….do you know if that is standard. I really want to try this recipe. Looks delicious!
Karly says
Hi Cindi! I haven’t seen that before. Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to use butter. Does it say what type of oil to use?

I’ve made these twice. We really like them but the inside of the crescent roll don’t seemed cooked enough. I wonder if the temp is turned down and cooked longer would help
Karly says
You could try that if you like. Air fryers all cook a bit differently.

This is fantastic and looks so easy. I love mozzarella cheese sticks and so this looks even better with the softness of the crescents and than the icing on the cake is the garlic butter. And better yet is cooking in the air fryer, no hot oven. Totally awesome. Can hardly wait to try this. Thank you so much and I know you are going to get other reviews on this, what’s not to love…..
