Our AIR FRYER SALMON WITH TERIYAKI cooks in just 10 minutes after a short marinade. Our homemade teriyaki marinade is quick, simple, and comes together with just a handful of ingredients.
Salmon is popular in our house and we’re always coming up with new ways to serve it up.
Salmon is kind of like pizza to me, it is hard to do it wrong. Or tacos, I mean, have you every had an air fryer salmon taco with mango salsa? There is only good, better, and great!
Additionally, I love Asian inspired food. It is so good as a sweet and spicy, or sweet and salty mix in most dishes! Teriyaki sauce though, it takes the cake.
It is my favorite sauce and I have been making my own for years now and I have tried it on almost everything, including salmon!

Salmon– To start any seafood recipe properly it is critical to pick your ingredients properly. For salmon, you have a few things to look out for. First, the fish should be moist, almost wet. If the fillets are dried out, they are not fresh. Secondly, if you press into the salmon fillets, the impression should go away. If the indent stays, again, you don’t have a fresh fillet. Lastly, smell it. It should smell like fresh fish, not rotten or like a low tide or a river during a drought. If your fish isn’t fresh, you can’t save the meal.
Flavors– While at the grocery store you may need to pick up some ground ginger seasoning, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, sugar, soy sauce, garlic and vegetable oil.
How to prepare the homemade teriyaki sauce:
- Use a medium bowl to combine the ingredients for the sauce.
- You will add some soy sauce, rice vinegar, Worcestershire, honey, sugar, garlic, and ginger to this bowl.
- Stir this until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Pour or scoop out 1/4 cup of the mixed sauce to be used after the salmon has cooked.
- Place your salmon portions into the bowl with the sauce and allow your salmon to marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours.
How to air fry salmon:
- Prepare your air fryer basket by misting it with vegetable oil or brushing the bottom of the basket with vegetable oil.
- Place the salmon skin side down into the basket and cook at 380 degrees F for 10 minutes.
- Take out your cooked salmon and brush on the reserved teriyaki sauce.
- Serve up this goodness!
Answer a question:
Yes! In a freezer bag they should last about 4-6 months after being cooked. You can reheat int he air fryer again at 380 degrees F until hot. Check after 5 minutes.
Salmon should have an internal temp of 145 degrees F. It’ll still be pink, because…salmon is pink. 🙂 If the middle is above 145 degrees F you are safe to serve it!

We’ve tested loads of air fryers over the years and narrowed it down to the best of the best! Whether you’re looking for a basket-style air fryer that fits nicely on your countertop or you want the toaster oven-style air fryer, we’ve got a recommendation for you!
It would be best to not use non-stick spray in your air fryer. Your air fryer basket doesn’t like it. Instead, apply vegetable oil with a brush or use a pump spray bottle in your air fryer.

Hi Karly – have fixed many of your meals and bought things with your promo code. 🙂 You’ve made low carb meal time so much easier for me. The nutrition facts you put on for the Air Fried Salmon with Teriyaki are really off – unless you’re including the rice and asparagus in the count. I put all the ingredients for the salmon & marinade in Carb Manager and it shows: 18g Net Carbs, 18g Total Carbs, 0g fiber, 21g fat, 28g protein, 381 calories, with a 13 glycemic load. Not sure where your 847 calories came from?
I got an air fryer for Christmas (requested!) and have only made 2 things so far, so this recipe is next. Love your blog 🙂

Hi Lou Anne! I’m so glad that you enjoy the recipes and I so appreciate the support! 🙂 I mentioned in the notes that the nutrition info is calculating the full amount of the marinade and that it’s skewing the results. It’s an automatic calculation and there’s no easy way for me to adjust. I’d work at it harder on the low carb site, but most of my air fryer people don’t care as much about the nutrition info so I left it alone. 🙂
