This Air Fryer Broccoli is a quick & easy side dish that’s low carb, nutritious, and versatile! We add our favorite seasoning for extra flavor. You can serve this alongside just about any main dish!

A spoon scooping a piece of broccoli off of a plate.

I have to admit that sometimes broccoli can be a boring vegetable. But it doesn’t have to be! Steamed broccoli is good (especially with some cheese!) but we think this air fryer broccoli has a much better texture and flavor. The outside is roasted and a bit crisp with a soft tender inside.

Plus, it only takes a couple minutes to prepare with a bit of oil and your favorite seasoning. It cooks up quickly which makes it a great side dish if you’re working on a bigger meal with a main course. You can have this ready in under 15 minutes!

Broccoli – Fresh broccoli florets are the way to go! Chop them up and rinse them well, or buy them pre-cut. If you have frozen broccoli, use this method for frozen broccoli in the air fryer.

Olive Oil – For air frying! You can use avocado oil here too if you prefer. It’ll help crisp up the exterior of the broccoli.

Seasoning – You can use pretty much whatever kind of seasoning you like for the broccoli. Plain salt is okay but we also like this with Greek seasoning such as Cavender’s, or (my personal favorite) Nature’s Seasons. You can use any other mix you like. Some Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, or red pepper flakes will spice things up!

We love how quick, easy, and versatile this air fryer broccoli recipe is! It takes hardly any time to prepare and cook and it’s the perfect side dish to go with just about anything. Plus it is light and healthy and low carb friendly too. The kids might still complain some but you can always top it with cheese or butter and they’ll usually come around!

Storage & Reheating:

Store leftover broccoli in an airtight container for 3-4 days.

Reheat in the microwave or air fryer until heated through.

I don’t recommend freezing cooked broccoli.

Recipe Tips!

For the best tasting results stick to these helpful tips when preparing air fryer broccoli:

  • Fresh broccoli is better than frozen.
  • Rinse the broccoli before seasoning/cooking. The water from rinsing will steam the broccoli a bit as it cooks, giving it a moist inside and crispy outside.
  • Season it well! Broccoli is pretty bland so the seasoning matters!
  • Pre-heat the air fryer for best results.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces broccoli florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning such as plain salt, Greek seasoning, or Nature’s Seasons

Instructions

  • Add the broccoli to a colander and rinse under running water. Drain well, but do not pat dry. A bit of water still clinging to the broccoli is ideal.
  • Add the broccoli to your air fryer basket and drizzle with the olive oil. Use your hands or a pair of tongs and toss well to coat the broccoli in the oil.
  • Sprinkle on the seasoning and toss again.
  • Air fry at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes, depending on how browned and crispy you’d like your broccoli.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

Most packaged broccoli florets will have already been washed, but the pre-cut florets tend to be a bit dry. We run them under water to wake them back up and give them a little drink. This will help them not dry out too much as they cook. Don’t skip this step for the best texture.
Use any seasoning you like, depending on what you’re serving your broccoli with.
