Gooey pie goodness, no pie dough stress. <— How did we get so lucky?
These are a bit like our apple hand pies, but instead of pie crust, we wrap the cherry pie filling in refrigerated biscuit dough.
What Makes These So Good
Quick & Easy Ingredients: With easy store bought ingredients like canned biscuit dough and canned cherry pie filling you’ll save lots of time over making it all from scratch!
Bite Sized Package: They’re basically everything I love about pie in one little package. You get that buttery, flaky biscuit on the outside, warm cherry filling in the middle, and a sweet glaze that makes them feel special.
Sweet Vanilla Glaze: This glaze is super easy to make with three simple ingredients and is the perfect way to finish off the cherry pie bites.

Cream Cheese – Start with room temperature cream cheese or it won’t be softened enough to easily mix with a spoon.
Sugar – You’ll need some brown sugar to mix in with the cream cheese and pie filling. We’re also using some powdered sugar to prepare the vanilla glaze.
Cherry Pie Filling – Keep it simple and use a canned cherry pie filling, or any fruit pie filling you want!
Biscuit Dough – We use a can of Pillsbury Grand Biscuits for the dough in this recipe.
Butter – You’ll need melted butter for brushing on the dough before air frying! This will help the biscuits brown nicely.
Vanilla Glaze – This is just a simple mixture of whole milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
How to Make Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs:

Add the cream cheese and brown sugar to a small bowl and mix together with a fork or whisk until smooth and creamy.

Separate the biscuits so you have 16 biscuits total, then slightly stretch them out or roll them out to about 3 inches wide.

Drop about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each biscuit, then add 1 tablespoon of the cherry filling over that. Pull the sides up, press together, and roll into a ball, making sure the filling is fully sealed inside the biscuit dough.

Once they are done in the air fryer, use tongs, to dip them in the glaze and turn to cover completely. Place on a cooling rack over a sheet of parchment paper to let the glaze solidify before eating.

Recipe Tips!
I’ve learned a few tricks after making these more times than I can count:
Room temperature cream cheese is non-negotiable. I tried rushing this once with cold cream cheese, and it was lumpy and impossible to mix properly. Just set it out about 30 minutes before you start cooking or pop it in the microwave for 15 seconds to soften it up.
Don’t overfill them. I know it’s tempting to pack in extra cherry filling, but trust me – they’ll burst open in the air fryer. One tablespoon is the sweet spot I’ve found after several messy attempts.
The folding technique matters. I used to just gather the dough up randomly, but taking the time to press opposite sides together first, then the other two sides, makes such a difference in keeping everything sealed inside.
About the biscuits: I use Pillsbury Grands! Southern Homestyle Buttermilk biscuits and split each one in half to get 16 portions.
Timing is everything: My air fryer tends to cook these in exactly 7 minutes, but I always check at 6 minutes just to be safe. You want them golden, not brown.
The glaze trick: I’ve found that dipping them while they’re still warm helps the glaze stick better, but don’t serve them immediately. Give the glaze about 5 minutes to set, otherwise it just runs right off.
Recipe FAQs:
Yep! Pretty much any kind of canned pie filling you’d like is okay to use here, or even make your own homemade filling if you prefer. Blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, apple, peach, and more are all great options, just make sure the pie filling is in small chunks so it fits nicely in the biscuit.
We use Pillsbury Grand Biscuits. The canned dough is just a lot easier to work with than making dough from scratch. It helps keep this recipe quick and easy.
