These air fryer smoked sausages make a great appetizer or snack for your next party or get together! They take less than 10 minutes and we dip them in BBQ sauce and spicy brown mustard. Everyone loves them!

We’ve all probably had Lil Smokies coated in BBQ sauce from the crockpot at a party before, right? Well, we’re mixing things up and make smoked sausage in the air fryer and turning it into an easy little snack/appetizer!

We’re not new to smoked sausage in the air fryer around here. We often make smoked sausage with vegetables and eat it all week for lunch. It reheats well, tastes great, and is relatively healthy and so easy!

But air fryer smoked sausage works great as an appetizer too! You get between 15 and 20 bite sized chunks of slightly crispy, smoked sausage with one 14-ounce package.

This is perfect for dipping in some spicy brown mustard or BBQ sauce! Serve it up with dips and toothpicks and enjoy!

FAQ:

Is smoked sausage pre-cooked?

Smoked sausage is normally sold either pre-cooked or cured, so all you’ll need to do is warm it up before eating.

What kind of meat is smoked sausage?

It is most commonly pork, but you can certainly get beef smoked sausage. It is usually seasoned, often with garlic and other ingredients, and wood smoked before packaging.

What type of smoked sausage should I use in this recipe?

This air fryer smoked sausage recipe will work well with any variety of pre-cooked or cured smoked sausage. Andouille sausage, keilbasa, beef sausage, and pork sausage all work well.

Recipe Tips

You can serve your dips on the side, or you can drizzle the sauces over your sausages.

If on the side, you should serve with a toothpick in each sausage.

If you drizzle the sauces, you can serve in a dish and let people scoop them onto their plate.
