Shake and Bake Pork Chops in the air fryer make perfectly tender, crispy breaded pork chops quickly and efficiently! No need to heat up the oven for these air fryer shake and bake pork chops!
Our parents often made Shake and Bake dinners when we were growing up. It was a quick and easy meal to prepare back in the day and it’s even easier these days! You might think it sounds weird to do something other than bake your Shake and Bake pork chops, but in fact it’s even better in the air fryer!
Air fryers do an excellent job of making crispy breaded Shake and Bake pork chops. The breading gets perfectly crispy and golden with an even better texture than what you’d get from oven baking! It works for these pork chops and it works just as well with our air fryer Shake and Bake chicken too!
So make your weeknight Shake and Bake dinners even easier by switching from the air fryer to the oven! It’s faster, easier, and tastes even better. And maybe check out these air fryer breaded pork chops if you want to skip the box of Shake ‘N Bake! They’re made with Panko for a homemade breading.

Pork Chops – We often use boneless pork chops but for this recipe we’re using bone-in! They definitely have a bit more flavor than the boneless chops and we usually get thicker cut pork chops when they are bone in, about 1 inch thick. You may need to adjust the cook time based on the thickness of the pork.
Shake ‘N Bake – We’re using the original flavored Shake ‘N Bake for these air fried pork chops. It comes in a variety of flavors so feel free to switch things up here and use a different kind like Parmesan Crusted or Crunchy Pretzel Shake ‘N Bake if you have a preference!
Olive Oil – For frying the breaded pork chops!
We love that this weeknight dinner recipe takes only three simple ingredients, is so quick and easy to prepare, and ready to eat in under 20 minutes! Shake and Bake makes dinner easy and the air fryer speeds it up even more while not compromising on taste. We love the golden, crispy air fried breading!
How to Make Air Fryer Shake and Bake Pork Chops:
Brush your pork chops with oil. Alternately, use water for a lower fat alternative.
Add the pork chops to the dish with the breading one at a time, turning them over to fully coat each side of the chops in the breading.
Spritz your air fryer basket with oil. Add the Shake and Bake pork chops to the basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece for air flow. You may need to work in batches.
Air fry the Shake and Bake pork chops for 6 minutes at 400 degrees, then flip and spritz them with some more oil. Cook for another 5 minutes or until they reach a safe internal temp of 145 degrees. Serve hot!
Meat Thermometer
We use and love this ThermoPro meat thermometer anytime we’re making chicken, steak, or pork chops! It’s the easiest way to ensure meat is cooked to the perfect temperature every time and is a great gift for beginner cooks too!
Recipe Tips!
If you like extra crispy breading spritz the Shake N Bake pork chops with a bit more olive oil after breading the chops and just before air frying. Flipping the pork chops about halfway through cooking will also help keep both sides of the pork chops nice and crispy. If you don’t flip them the breading may not crisp up on the bottom.
Serving Suggestions:
Shake and Bake pork chops are just the kind of versatile main dish that you can serve with pretty much anything! For those with a dual basket air fryer you may as well cook up a side to go with the pork chops like our air fryer red potatoes or some air fryer vegetables!
You can also keep things quick and easy with some frozen foods like air fryer frozen french fries or frozen onion rings! These air fryer frozen breadsticks are also so quick and easy and go well with pork chops.
These bacon wrapped green beans are another good option for serving alongside pork chops. Pretty much any side will pair well with these.
Freezing & Storage Instructions:
If you’ve got leftover pork chops you can store them for about 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator. Let them cool to about room temp before storing to help prevent any condensation which can make the breading soggy with leftovers.
Either wrap individual pork chops in plastic wrap or store them in an airtight container.
You can also freeze Shake and Bake pork chops for up to a few months. Let them cool before transferring to a freezer safe container, bag, or individually wrapping them. Thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating in the air fryer or the oven.
Recipe FAQ:
Yes, you can! Shake and Bake might technically be for baking but it works just as well (even better!) in the air fryer. You get perfectly golden and crispy breading when you air fry rather than bake the pork chops. It’s quicker and easier than baking too!
It took about 11 minutes, flipping halfway through, to cook these through to a safe temp. Your air fryer may cook differently, plus it depends on the thickness of the pork chop. Use a meat thermometer to ensure they are cooked to a safe temperature of 145 degrees. Use it to avoid overcooking too so you don’t have dried out pork chops.

- 4 bone-in pork chops about 1 inch thick
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 box Shake ‘N Bake Original Pork
Instructions

i have the toaster type air fryer would these work using same times

I’ve only tested this in the basket style of air fryer, but the timing should be very similar. You’ll always want to use a meat thermometer for the best results since timing will vary a bit based on the thickness of your pork chops.
